Stay Awhile, and Listen Plain Text
>Tonight is a very special night for you >You had been going out with Asuka for a good, long while now >You've gotten to know not only her, but also the other people that are important to her >You've become friends with all of her classmates. Anytime they're around is good fun >You've gotten to know her grandfather. As eccentric as he may seem, he's a very nice and caring person and you can tell he cares a lot for Asuka >You've also met her parents and have gone to their sushi shop several times. You enjoy the food as much as the people there. >They're both nice people and you're always happy to chat with them >Or you would be saying that, if her father didn't always seem to be glaring at you, seeming to be silently watching every single move you make >He'd always be pretty chipper when Asuka was with you, but it always felt like he would be looking at you for longer than what you felt comfortable with >It's as if he was judging every one of your moves >Today as you went into the sushi restaurant, it was no different as he glared daggers at you >As you sat down to get some lunch, he does something he normally never does and begins talking to you >"I want to talk to you later on tonight. Asuka will be staying at her friends place and I want to have a word with you." >His voice sounds harsh as he tells you this, almost as if he's upset by the fact that he just told you what he did >You swiftly agree to go to his place tonight, you don't want to upset the man any more than what you already have ------------------------- >You now find yourself outside of the residence of Asuka's parent's house >As you press the doorbell, you are shortly greeted by Asuka's father, or Papasuka as you like to refer to him in your head, and he warmly invites you inside, showing you a demeanor you've never seen before >He asks you to join him in his private parlor and you oblige as you follow him into the house >As you enter into the private chamber, you see bookcases full of books about law and other things of the sort >He invites you to sit down in a nice looking recliner >As you sit down he walks around a small bar in the room and pulls out two glasses, pouring some scotch for both him and yourself >You would normally turn down the offer to drink but you don't want to offend the guy and so you accept the glass and have a sip >He sits down in a recliner across from you and he enjoys a drink of the caramel-colored liquid as well >As he relaxes, you start to feel a bit more at ease as well, feeling the drink starting to do it's magic >"I saw you looking at all the books in the room. I bet you're wondering to yourself why a man such as myself would have all of this." >That's actually exactly what you're thinking but you think best to not respond to him as he begins talking again >"I was planning on becoming a lawyer and work my way to the top. This is everything I used to aspire to before I met Asuka's mother." >"I can remember that day clearly. I was walking home late one night after I had gotten done at the law office I was interning at. I was tired and just wanted to make it back home." >"I had turned down an alleyway that served as a shortcut back to my house when I was jumped by several thugs that were waiting for passerbys such as myself." >"I didn't have time to try to defend myself before they threw me up against a wall and started demanding my personal belongings from me. They pulled out knives and I was scared for my life. I had clenched my eyes shut and was preparing myself for my inevitable death." >"It never came though as I heard the sounds of punching and kicking happening all around me. I opened my eyes and saw a lone girl fighting off all of the thugs. She moved faster than what I could see and she single-handedly knocked all of them out." >He takes another sip of his drink before continuing on >"I was shocked. Not because of what had just happened but because of what was right in front of me. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid my eyes on. She was stunning as the light from the moon radiated off of her, amplifying her beauty." >"She asked if I was okay and all I could do was nod my head slowly, my jaw feeling like it was touching the floor. I couldn't believe that a woman this amazing had helped me out. On top of that, she was nice and friendly." >"I had instantly fallen in love with her and knew that I wanted to marry her someday. She didn't stay long after she had saved me and went to go take off. As soon as she turned her back to me I called out to her." >He begins chuckling to himself as he took a sip from the glass >You begin to take a drink as he continues with his story, wondering what was so funny >"I shouted out to her, "Hey, your panties are showing!" >You choke on your drink as you didn't expect to hear those words come from him >He laughs as he sees your reaction and goes on with his tale >"I didn't ask for her name, I didn't ask how she was able to do what she did to save me. It must have been the adrenaline from almost being killed mixed with how sleepy I was, but at the time that was the only thing I could think of to say to her." >"She stopped in her and turned around to look at me. I could see her face turn bright red under the moonlit sky. She hadn't noticed that one of the thugs had sliced at her skirt, damaging it to where she was exposed from the waist down." >"I remember her having on the cutest pair of panties I had ever seen. They were covered in hearts with a rainbow coloring scheme. She didn't appreciate the fact that I had seen them. Before I knew it, I saw a fist fly towards my face and I was knocked unconscious." >Your drink had loosened you up a bit and you felt more comfortable talking to him >You asked to him, "What happened after that?" >You can see that he's happy to hear you starting to talk after you had been sitting there only listening >"I ended up finally coming to the next morning. I awoke to find myself in a foreign room and there, sitting right next to me was Asuka's mother. From what I was told later on, she had felt horrible after knocking me out. She never intended to do that but the rush of her emotions got the better of her and she got carried away." >"I didn't mind though as the sight that greeted me when I awoke was enough to make me feel better. It was from there that we got to know each other and started dating." >"Her father and I would get into so many arguments. He never liked the fact that I was a lawyer and wanted her to have nothing to do with me, but I kept on fighting to win him over. I knew that I wanted to marry her and that I wanted to get his blessing." >"I got fed up with it one day and stormed over to where he was and demanded from him, "What will it take for me to finally be able to get approval from you so that I can marry your daughter?" >"He asked me if I was willing to give everything up to be with his daughter, if I could throw everything away to make her happy." >"I didn't hesitate for a single second, I told him there on the spot that I would. I'd be more than willing to throw away my hopes and dreams just so I could see her smiling face everyday. I instantly called my boss and told him that I quit right then and there and dropped out of school to show him that my happiness was worth nothing compared to being with her." >"He finally believed me and accepted that I was worthy enough for her hand in marriage. We finally tied the knot and opened up the sushi restaurant that we work at. Let me tell you, that was one of the happiest moments in my life hearing him hearing him give his approval to me. I'll never forget it." >He takes another sip from his glass and just sits back in his chair for a bit, reminiscing over old times. >"But enough about me, let's talk about you." ------------------------- >After you both had been drinking for a bit, you guys talk more earnestly and have a good time >You begin to wonder why he had always seemed so mad at you before, and you confront him about it >You ask him why he's always giving you such sour looks anytime you go into the shop >"Ah, I think I know where you're going with this. I'm not intentionally trying to glare daggers at you, it's just I can;t wear my glasses while cooking as the steam fogs up my glasses something fierce. I can barely see without them; I have to squint really hard and stare for awhile before I realize that blur in my vision is you!" >You then ask him why he sounded angry with you when he asked you to come over >"Oh that, I had wanted to eat something really quick and made me something to eat. I forgot to put my glasses on and accidentally put too much vinegar and wasabi on the futomaki I was making and ended up burning my throat! I was still recovering when you walked in and I hadn't had the chance to fix my problem!" >As you mull what he told you over in your head, you begin to laugh at the misunderstanding >He has a good hearty laugh with you as well, never realizing that he came off that way >You two continue trading stories into the night as you keep on drinking ------------------------- >Papasuka finally ends up seeing you off as you two have a good time, bonding over the session sharing personal stories and getting to know each other better >As he makes it back home, Asuka's mother is there waiting and asks how your 'guy time' went >"He's a good kid, I believe he's a good man and will make Asuka happy if they decide to get married." >She smiles playfully and asks him, "If he ends up asking for her hand, are you going to put him through all the trouble my father put you through?" >"Of course not, I'm not a monster like your dad is!" >"Hey, he's not a monster! He can't be if he allowed you to marry me!" >"You're right, I could never be angry at someone who let me marry a woman as perfect as you." >With that, they both embrace each other for a long, heartfelt kiss.
